Minutes for September 12, 2007
A meeting of the University Senate was held at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, 12 September, in Maxwell Auditorium.

The Chancellor called the meeting to order, and welcomed Senate members to the 2007-8 academic year. She told them that the main business of the Senate at this meeting was organizing committees. She invited everyone present to a reception in the lobby immediately following adjournment. She then called on Prof. Can Isik, Agenda Committee chairman, to report.
Prof. Isik told the body that his report consisted of a motion to approve the following changes to the Senate committees:

The motion carried.
Prof. Isik told senators that there would likely be further changes to the committees in the coming weeks.
Under new business, a Senate member asked who the chair of the Athletic Policy committee was [Prof. Kathy Hinchman], and added that the committee needed more faculty in its membership.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
